Animal extracts are meat extracts made from animal objects, some animal tissues or viscera, extracted by mild bioenzymatic digestion or boiling, concentrated and spray dried. They are the new industry counterpart to plant extracts, which used to be commonly referred to as biochemical products and biochemical APIs. Their main categories are: amino acids, peptides, proteins, enzymes and coenzymes, polysaccharides, lipids, nucleic acids and their derivatives. The most important feature is that it is soluble in water.
