Basil Essential Oil Description

Clove basil oil is a dark yellow and reddish-brown flowing liquid with the aroma of eugenol. It is soluble in ethanol. The oil distilled by steam is light oil, with relative density of 0.9588~0.9852 (20/20 ℃), refractive index of 1.514~1.526, and phenol content of not less than 52%. The oil separated from the distillate water during re-run (reflux distillation) is heavy oil, with relative density of 1.030~1.056 (20/20 ℃), refractive index of 1.529~1.536, and phenol content of no less than 82%.
