Citronella essential oil nature

The main ingredients are citronellal, geraniol, citronellol, citral, citronellene, etc. It has a strong smell of grass.

Citronella oil preparation method

It is obtained from the semi-dried whole grass of citronella by steam distillation, and the oil yield is 1.2~1.4%.

Citronella oil application and recommended dosage

It is mainly used for the blending of daily chemicals, such as soap, detergent and mosquito repellent. Different dosage is used according to needs, and the general dosage is 0.5~4%.

It is mainly used for isolated citronellal and geraniol to further synthesize citronellol, hydroxycitronellol, rose alcohol, menthol and other important spices; It can also be used to prepare edible essence.

Citronella oil nutritive value

Citronella oil can directly extract citronellal, citronellol and geraniol, which are also the main natural sources of these three spices. Generally, Java citronella oil contains 35-40% citronellal, 20-25% citronellol, 15-20% citronellol, and about 5% citronellate acetate and citronellate acetate. Because the boiling points of citronellol and geraniol are relatively close, and they are both rose fragrance, natural citronellol always contains a lot of geraniol, and natural geraniol always contains a lot of citronellol. Citronellol can be obtained by reducing citronellal. Many flavor plants directly use citronella oil as raw material to reduce citronellal by "high-pressure hydrogenation method". Because "high-pressure hydrogenation method" will inevitably generate a small amount of tetrahydrogeraniol, making the product fragrance poor.
