Methyl cedryl ketone product description

The appearance is liquid and it is a mixture of isomers (I, II). It has a strong and lasting aroma of wood, and a fragrance like Longyan. The aroma of ketone I is relatively weak, while the aroma of ketone II is not only strong, but also has the aroma characteristics of longwuxiang.

Methyl cedryl ketone chemical properties

Light yellow to brownish yellow liquid. Boiling point 140-160 ℃/666.7Pa, relative density 0.996-1.010, refractive index 1.517-1.521, flash point 171 ℃, soluble in 3-7 volume of 80% ethanol. It has mild woody fragrance, with some ambergris and musk-like aroma.

2. It can be used in very modern perfume and essence in combination with fragrance. It can be well coordinated with other wood fragrance, ointment fragrance and moss fragrance. New fragrance can be obtained when it is used in flower essence.

Methyl cedryl ketone production method

After removing the cypress naphtha, the cedar oil contains about α- Cedarene 40%~45%, β- Cedarene 5%~15% and Rohenne 40%~45%, the latter is isomerized in acetic acid polyphosphate to produce 7,10-ethylene-4,4,7-trimethyl-1, (9) - octahydronaphthalene, and then acetylated by acetic anhydride polyphosphate to convert to the required product.
