D-xylose is mainly used as a raw material for xylitol in my country. It has been produced for nearly 40 years. The recognition of xylitol is much higher than that of D-xylose. Internationally, Japan has approved D-xylose as a non-calorie sweetener in the 1960s, while Japan only approved xylitol as a pharmaceutical raw material, processed into injections, and widely used as a metabolic therapy for diabetics.
