Povidone product description

Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), also known as polyvidone or povidone, is a polymer compound formed by the polymerization of N-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone. Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) is a water-soluble white resinous solid formed by homopolymerization of N-vinylpyrrolidone. PVP is an important fine chemical product with excellent performance and high added value. Its molecules contain relatively polar lactam groups, which have the ability of polar groups. It is not only soluble in water, but also soluble in polar organic solvents such as alcohols, carboxylic acids, alcohol amines, halogenated hydrocarbons, etc. the chemical properties of PVP solids and their aqueous solutions are very stable.

Povidone function and application

1. Povidone is used as the binder of the preparation.

2. Povidone can be used as food clarifier and stabilizer, as well as setting agent, dispersant and affinity agent of personal care products.
